Tinker's Bubbble is a residential off-grid community who work 40 acres of
organically-certified land in South Somerset without using fossil fuels.
Land use includes forestry, top-fruit, grazing, and small-scale
vegetable growing and dairy with a focus on producing what is needed as a
community, and there is scope for various small scale land-based
enterprises alongside the communally-run apple pressing and sawmilling.
People can join the Tinker's Bubble community for short or long term stays, with
long-termers joining the resident group in taking responsibility for the community
and the land. Applicants would live on site, participate in community
activities including cooking and management meetings, and sign up to a
residents agreement, which includes maintaining social and
ecological values. For more information see
www.tinkersbubble.org/Joining. Applications by email to
tinkersbubble@riseup.net, referencing SW Landmatch. We take volunteers
throughout the year and initial meetings and volunteer stays may take a
while depending on availability.
